Since 1996, Paul and Johnna have been brewing their own beer under the Old Willow label. Paul has been brewing since 1991, and Johnna has been apprenticed to him since they met.

Our two favorite brews are the India Pale Ale and the Ton Eighty Stout which we generally brew several times a year. Since moving to our house in Shepherdstown, we've been growing four types up hops up the side of our house.

In February 1998, we brewed a special brew for our wedding which we called the Warm Springs Wedding Ale. (We were married in Warm Springs, Virginia.) We used lots of herbs from our garden and honey to give the beer the flavor of a traditional wedding meade. Click here to see the recipe.

Our latest brew is the November Sunday Nut Brown Ale, a smooth, mellow beer with just a hint of frost in it.
